To love a woman

To love a woman, you must first love her

And know that you love her

Because if you don’t love her, you won’t know

How to love her

To love a woman, you must understand her language

She doesn’t always say what she means

But she won’t say what she doesn’t mean

Listen to learn

To love a woman, you must be teachable

Flexible, moldable, amenable

If she loves you, she will teach you

How to love her

To love a woman, you must first love her

And know that you love her

Because if you love her, your heart will show you

How to love her

If i could...

If I could, I would

Climb the highest mountain, sail the farthest seas

If I could, I would

Carry the largest cross, give my life-blood

To take my sins away

If I could, I would

Torture myself, beat myself to pulp

If I could, I would

Tear of my sinful flesh

To take my sins away

But I can’t, so I won’t

Try to take my sins away

He made it so simple

Almost too good to be true

To take my sins away

Believe in me, He said

I am the lamb that takes away the sins of the world

Give me your burden of sin and take my own yoke

Let my blood wash away your sins

To take your sins away

And so I come, wretched sinner that I am

Guilty, in dire need of cleansing and forgiveness

‘Forgive me’ I cry

I believe you can and you will

So take my sins away

A brand new life He gives me

Sins power over me He breaks

So that if I fall, I don’t stay down

I rise again and try again

My sins are taken away

UGLY FOR A DAY

I wonder what it would be like to be ugly for a day

Indeed, sometimes I wish I were

Unattractive, unpleasant, ‘un-charming’

Like a colourless flower without petals

That flower would attract no bees,

No hands to pluck out its flowers

No insects to take its nectar

No pleasantness to the eyes

Yes, an ugly face has its benefits

It attracts only those who can look beyond the surface

Those who see colour in paleness

Those who see beauty in plainness

But alas, like a beautiful flower I am

Insects, bees and hands I attract

Petals, nectar, all they take

Take and take but give me No

I did not make me but my maker

And so he deemed fit to make me

Beautiful for His glory, pleasant for His purpose

A flower, beautiful like no other

So it is that I am beautiful

Not for me, but for Him

In His garden I stay planted no matter what

That I might point all to Him; my Elohim

Beautiful kisser

Beautiful kisser, terrible lover

She’s enchanting as the pied piper

Magnetic, electrifying, irresistible

Mesmeric, hypnotic, alluring

A live wire but without current

Because someone took away the power

Luscious lips, tender and soft

Beautiful kisser, terrible lover

She could be a wonderful lover

But, no, it hurts her too much to love

The kiss should go to the heart

But it stays there, on the lips

There should be feeling, should be current

Current that flows from the heart

The heart that could be the perfect lover

But she’s a live wire without current

Men beware of her lips

And do not desire to kiss them

Unless you have the power to quicken her heart

Or the power to live with a broken heart

The simple message

We took the message of Christ and made it Christianity

We took Christianity and made it a religion

We took religion and politicized it

We took politics and commercialized it

Yet, from the beginning, His message was simple:

‘The kingdom of God is here with you’

But, no, we prefer to try to get there our own way

Even if we have to pay for it in cash or torture

Some saw the message as a lucrative business

And tailored it to suit their pockets

Some had great philosophies that baffle the mind

They made doctrines, interpretations and rules of all sorts

Yet, from the beginning, His message was simple:

‘The kingdom of God is here with you’

But, no, we prefer to try to get there our own way

Even if we have to pay for it in cash or torture

It’s no lie we’ve wondered far from the truth

He said ‘I am the way, the truth and the life; I am the door

In plain words, He spoke, in simplicity He came

But who loves simple? No, we want it complicated

FATHER... ABBA FATHER

I can never understand your ways... truly, everthing about my life is written in your book
You know all about me, my beginning and my end... that’s why my circumstances never fluster you
I see your goodness and I am grateful because slowly, I’m starting to understand why you said NO
to some of my requests.
It hurt when you said NO. It hurt so much and i cried
But you comforted me and then said NO still because you had something better for me
You are the best Father i’ll ever have and i will always need you in my life
I don’t wanna ever let you go
I want to worship YOU
I see truly... that’s all you want me to do with who I am: worship U
I get it now Abba
Let me just tell you how priceless you are... You are the life I need to live
You are my source, sustenance, Joy, Centre... my EVERTHING
I need you so... Your presence, your word... your Spirit.
My Father, help me remain in you, abide in you, be true to YOU
Keep me
Love me
Don’t let me go

He restores my soul

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my so...
